I'm not asleep, but I should be. It's 2:31 in the morning. I was up at six something yesterday, and in the office by 8:30.
Stuff starting having a little momentum. We got really frustrated with Microsoft Teams and the file sharing. And then I stayed late and figured it out, and we should have no more problems with it.
I also got some templates set up, for my Fax Cover Sheet, and my letterhead, particularly, and I got the color printer to work, with a direct connection to the computer, and then I putzed about a bit on one of the computers I bought, and started shopping for RAM to upgrade it. It's about the same vintage as one of the ones I just bought, but with 4GB of RAM, it's just not all that. It's incapable of running Windows 10, which probably explains why it's still on 2008, which is dying soon, so I risked $50 bucks on 16GB of RAM to see where we can go with it. That should breath another year or two into the machine.
I also risked $35 on Windows Server 2016. It should come with a valid license, but considering they are still $600 plus at B&H, I still wonder. If it sounds too good, it usually is, but this seller had 275 reviews and a high positive rating; so it's worth it. It's certainly not worth any more of my time trying to break in to the server I have; so this will have to do.
On the good side, it's not supposed to arrive until the day I leave, which suggests I won't have that distraction — it's just a quick install (we all know it never is, I do get lost in such things) — and then the day is spent, or the night.
I kind of started down a spiral on e-bay/Amazon though. I knew what I wanted, and I just futzed, which is not what I want.
I want to be efficient. I want to be able to take the time to do my morning show, about which I say to myself I would have the time if I didn't have the commute.
And then I have political thought, and I never write it down, and I know I express myself well there.
And then I remember about the bicycle pump seals I forgot to order, and spend ten times as long as I need on that as well.
And I watch NetFlix (Cobra Kai is a well done follow on the Karate Kid), but I don't need to binge.
But then I probably shouldn't drink coffee when I get home either.
So good night. I hope you've had a great week. I want to get up in three or so hours; so I'm going to bed.
